State Farm Announces Dividends

The 2006 North Dakota Tourism print campaign received both a Judge's Choice and a Gold ADDY Award at the annual awards banquet sponsored by the Bismarck-Mandan Advertising Federation on Feb. 17. Silver ADDYs were presented for the 2007 official state map and for a Minneapolis event invitation.

All three projects were done as a joint creative effort with Odney Advertising.

The AdFed awards recognize excellence in advertising, exemplifying outstanding creativity in each category. The gold ADDYs move on to district competition, and the top winners will advance to national competition.

Carmike Cinemas Inc. announced that its multiplex located at 2700 State St. has completed the installation of its digital cinema projectors to screen first-run Hollywood films and other attractions such as musical concerts and sporting events. The theater is now all digital, with all digital picture and sound, but still will be able to show 35 mm film. The installation is among 2,300 planned over a 12-month period as the company converts its screens around the country from 35 mm film to digital technology.

Attendees at the North Dakota Rural Water Systems Associaion's recent conference identified Valley City public utilities water as the most appealing.

A competition was held at the Bismarck Ramkota in an effort to identify the tastiest water in the state by sampling water from 20 small and rural water systems.

Runners up were R&T Water Association, located in Ray, and the city of Noonan. The samples were rated on clarity, odor and taste.

CEOMelody Kruckenberg said the state has a good chance at the national taste test that will be held on May 1 in Washington, D.C., adding that water from North Dakota has placed in the top five in the nation twice in the past five years.

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., the largest insurer of autos in North Dakota and the nation, announced its auto insurance policy-holders in North Dakota will receive dividends totalling $5.2 million.

State Farm Mutual policy-holders in 36 states, the District of Columbia and New Brunswick in Canada will receive a total of $1.25 billion in the company's latest policyholder dividend declarions.

North Dakota policy-holders will receive 22.8 percent of their semi-annual premium, averaging $56 a vehicle. The dividend payments will begin in early April and will continue throughout the year. Policy-holders can expect to receive their dividend near the time of their policy renewal.
