City Firm Backs PM in Eco-Campaign

LIVERPOOL insurance giant Royal & SunAlliance has joined Prime Minister Tony Blair in launching a new environmentally-friendly campaign.

We're in this Together encourages individuals to take action on climate change and R&SA was one of eight major UK companies who pledged to encourage customers to join the drive.

R&SA general insurance arm More Than announced two 'green' products: Customers buying car insurance will get a GPS device to help them drive more efficiently and drivers can opt for an eco-car insurance discount for hybrid cars and the chance to offset their carbon emissions. More Than will pay for the first 3,000 miles of each customer's carbon offsetting.

Bridget McIntyre, R&SA UK chief executive, said: "By offering consumers positive environmental choices large companies can make a tangible difference in the fight against climate change."
