Cost of Cover Drops

THE average cost of car insurance has fallen slightly during the first quarter of this year - but follows an all-time high at the end of last year, according to the British Insurance Premium Index.

The index shows that the average premium for comprehensive car insurance is pounds 800.

This is just pounds 4 less than the all-time high following the 4.35 per cent increase in 2006.
