The following cases were heard at Cardiff Magistrates Court: Marcus John Abdulla, 23, of Broadway, Roath, Cardiff, was fined a total of pounds 200 with pounds 30 court costs and disqualified from driving for twelve months after he was convicted in his absence of two counts of using a car without a valid licence or insurance and one count of using a car without an MoT. Salim Mayemba Kapesa, 41, of Lyndhurst Street, Canton, Cardiff, was fined pounds 100 with pounds 30 court costs and had six penalty points added to his driving licence after pleading guilty to using a car without the correct licence or insurance.

Timothy James Rice, 39, of Greenfield Avenue, Dinas Powis, was fined pounds 200 with pounds 30 court costs and had six penalty points added to his driving licence after pleading guilty to using a car without insurance.

Garry Canning, 21, of Bishops Close, Whitchurch, Cardiff, was fined pounds 200 with pounds 70 court costs and a pounds 15 victims surcharge after pleading guilty to using threatening words or behaviour.

Gavin Frank Proctor, 19, of Rowan Place, Tredegar, was fined a total of pounds 300 and banned from driving for two months after he was convicted of using a car without the correct licence, insurance or MoT.

Paul Anthony Rosen, 37, of Harrison Way, Windsor Quay, Cardiff, was fined a total of pounds 600 with pounds 150 court costs, told to pay pounds 100 compensation and banned from driving for 12 months after pleading guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis, and assault.

Ross John Cooper, 22, of Newport Road, Roath, Cardiff, was fined pounds 50 after admitting stealing two DVD box sets to the value of pounds 69.98 from Virgin Megastores. He was ordered to pay pounds 60 costs. Darren Terrence Peter Plumley, 34, of Dunraven Road, Leckwith, Cardiff, was given a 12-month conditional discharge after pleading guilty to using threatening behaviour. He was ordered to pay pounds 60 costs. Elinor Mary Roberts, 29, of Vista Rise, Llandaff, Cardiff, was given a 12-month community order after admitting driving while over the drink-drive limit. She was ordered to take a drink impaired drivers scheme and banned from driving for two years and eight months. She was also ordered to pay pounds 60 costs.: Ban driver 'nervous at the wheel':A banned driver attracted the attention of a police patrol officer because he looked nervous at the wheel. Robert Taylor, 44, was driving his daughter's Vauxhall Tigra along Newport Road, Cardiff, at about 1.30am on June 26.

Cardiff Magistrates' Court heard the officer followed him because he "appeared extremely nervous".

Sarah Asprey, prosecuting, said: "The defendant went to great lengths to avoid eye contact."

Taylor, a general handyman, was stopped at Eastern Avenue and checks revealed he was a six-times banned driver.

Dave Rees, in mitigation, said Taylor, of Beech House, Hollybush Estate, Whitchurch, Cardiff, was last week made the subject of an 18- month community order, with 80 hours of unpaid work for burglary.

Taylor, who pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance, was given a 12-month community order with a further 100 hours of unpaid work, banned from driving for 12 months and told to pay pounds 65 court costs.
