The stocks of two very special supercars are running low in the UK - so hurry if you want a Corvette Coupe Victory Edition, or a Corvette Ron Fellows Edition. The 6-litre Victory Edition, produced to celebrate the success of Corvettes in sports car racing, is priced from pounds 42,990. The Ron Fellows Edition is based on the Corvette Z06 and can accelerate from 0-to-62 mph in just 3.9 seconds, and power on to a top speed of 199mph. It costs pounds 59,990 and is only available in white.

The new hybrid-powered flagship of the Lexus luxury brand, the pounds 81,400 LS 600h, is now on sale in Britain. Despite the hefty price, demand is high, so if you order one now don't expect to see it before next spring. The LS 600h features the world's first full- time, all-wheel drive full hybrid V8 powertrain, using a 5.0-litre petrol engine together with a powerful, high-output electric motor. Performance figures are zero to 62mph in 6.3 seconds, top speed 155mph, and a thirst of 30.4mpg in combined cycle driving.

Mazda's RX-8 four-seater, four-door sports coupe is now available with 0% finance and a new optional Sport Pack. The Pack is priced at pounds 350, saving buyers pounds 1,400 if they'd specified the lowered sports suspension, 10-spoke 18-inch alloys, body-coloured side skirts, and body-side graphics separately. The finance offer runs until the end of December, and covers all RX-8 models.

Speed is the clear deciding factor between men and women when it comes to the type of accidents British drivers have. Web-based car insurer elephant.co.uk says research of its own data revealed men drive faster and more aggressively than women, while women are more easily distracted behind the wheel. So, men are 42% more likely than women to be involved in a head-on collision, while women are 55% more likely than men to have an accident in a car park, and 47% more likely to have an accident at traffic lights.

More and more UK drivers are looking to swap their gas-guzzlers for more eco-friendly motors, but online car retailer www.yourgreencar.com says the current system of Vehicle Excise Duty, or road tax, offers insufficient incentives for Britons to choose smaller, greener, cars. In a bid to change that, the firm has launched an online petition - go to the web address should you wish to view, or sign, it.
