The following cases were heard at Cardiff Magistrates Court: Peter John James, 35, of Machen Place, Riverside, Cardiff, was fined pounds 150 with a pounds 15 victims surcharge and pounds 30 costs after admitting having no valid licence or insurance. Six points were put on his licence. Mary Francine McKeown, 52, of Poplar Road, Pentrebane, Cardiff, was fined pounds 60 with a pounds 15 victims surcharge after admitting speeding. Robert McLellan, 20, of Hendre Road, Rumney, Cardiff, was fined pounds 50 with pounds 30 costs and a pounds 15 victims surcharge after admitting not having a valid licence.

William OLeary, 34, of Litchfield Court, Tudor Street, Riverside, Cardiff, was given a four-month jail term, suspended for a year, after admitting shoplifting, breaching a community order made for driving while disqualified, escaping from lawful custody, driving without insurance, failing to surrender to custody and resisting a police officer.

Jamshid Qayimo, 20, of Lower Cathedral Road, Riverside, Cardiff, was fined pounds 200 with pounds 30 costs and a pounds 15 victims surcharge after admitting having no car insurance. Six points were put on his licence.

Neil John Rich, 25, of Meadvale Road, Rumney, Cardiff, was fined pounds 200 with pounds 30 costs and a pounds 15 victims surcharge for having no insurance. Six points were put on his licence.

Christopher Alan Smith, 23, of Bwlch Road, Fairwater, Cardiff, was jailed for five months and two weeks after admitting drink driving, having no insurance, driving while disqualified, criminal damage to a window and breaching a conditional discharge. In the drink drive offence, Smith had 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35mg.

Craig Gilbert Staynings, 37, of Clos Hafren, St Mellons, Cardiff, was fined pounds 250 with pounds 30 costs and a pounds 15 victims surcharge after admitting having no insurance or MoT certificate. Six points were put on his licence.

Darren John Wilcox, 27, of Treharne Road, Edwardsville, Treharris, near Merthyr Tydfil, was given a four-month jail term suspended for a year after admitting causing criminal damage to a caravan and breaching a community order. He must carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

Craig Burgess, 30, of Fitzhamon Embankment, Riverside, Cardiff, was fined pounds 50 with a pounds 15 victims surcharge for using threatening words or behaviour.

Richard Charles Emmott, 31, of Knightswell Road, Caerau, Cardiff, was conditionally discharged for a year and must pay pounds 60 costs after admitting shoplifting, failing to surrender to custody and possessing cocaine. Jacqueline Ann Harris, 45, of Fardre Court, Church Village, Pontypridd, was given a four-month jail term suspended for six months after admitting driving while disqualified and having no insurance. She was banned from driving for a year.
